The photo of my mom is from our store when we were on Verdugo Road.Her name was Susan Van Gieson. My parents bought the store in the 1950’s. It was a combination pet store and gardening center. I grew up with monkeys, anteaers, goats, racoons,otters, parrots, macaws and more. Everyone loved my mom, she was always smiling and happy.

Located in Montrose, California, our pet shop has been voted Glendale’s and Pasadena’s ‘Best Pet Store’ by the Pasadena Weekly and the Glendale News-Press.

We have grown into a full supply and grooming shop! We can groom, bath, or do a routine teeth cleaning for your furry best friend.

The picture of the man with the duck is Clarence Nash and his puppet Donald Duck. Clarence was the original voice of Donald Duck for Disney. I am the little girl in the front. My sisters, Peggy and Mimi are in the photo along with my cousins Roberta and Kathy. Clarence would try to get me to kiss Donald but I was too frightened. I’d kiss him in a heartbeat today! My parents purchased the store from Clarence in 1955.–Alyce
